Published by SpinType, Tech for Life is available to buy online at http://spintype.com/book/tech-for-life at a RRP of 20€ (ex.VAT) for the print book, including a digital version, and 10€ (ex. VAT) for all digital versions of the book (pdf, epub and streaming versions).

Tech for Life established itself as a movement in 2018, championing the responsible use of technology and advocating for its creation and shaping in such a way that it drives positive behaviour and supports society’s needs.

The Tech for Life book is a rallying cry to leaders and influencers in the tech community to take control of the use of technology. It provides them with the tools needed to harness technological change and channel it to develop, create and manage technology in a responsible way to improve the state of the world.

The authors leverage their extensive experience to share insight and real-life examples of how businesses can take incremental steps that contribute to the responsible creation of technology. The book is practical, insightful and educational and is the calling card of the Tech for Life movement supporting the initiatives instituted by the Techfestival and the Copenhagen Letter.

While tech has come to dominate our lives over the last few years, the current COVID-19 pandemic brings the issues addressed by Tech for Life to the fore, such as the need to employ tracking technology that will manage the spread of the disease without eroding civil liberties, for example.

Thinggaard stated: “Technology is an exciting and transformative force. It has developed at such a rapid pace that, at times, humanity has struggled to keep up.

“The resulting unintended consequences, such as the misuse of private data, for example, have sent shockwaves through society and instilled a deep mistrust in the industry. It is our mission to rebuild that trust – but it must be earned.”

Co-author, Jim Hagemann Snabe, Chairman of Siemens and A. P. Moller Maersk, said: “Technology offers unprecedented opportunities to solve some of the biggest problems in the world. Tech for Life celebrates technology – but at the same time acknowledges the need to steer technological development in a direction that is desirable from a human point of view.

“It is a book for everyone – but we speak as business leaders to our peers when we challenge them to make a change in their business operation, and make tech a force for good.”
